Day 30: Final Distance 1152 miles 1854 km
We rolled in to Land’s End yesterday morning after a short 11 mile ride from the pub where we’re staying. (A technical glitch prevented us putting up a post yesterday.)
Well, the ride has been a lot of fun and, through people’s kind donations, we did raise some money for ALS and MND charities. (It’s remarkable how many people we’ve met in the last week who have had family members or friends affected by the disease.)
We would encourage anyone to do the End-to-End ride. You see so much of the country and meet lots of different people. We’ll put up a longer post in a few days about what worked and what didn’t, and any recommendations we’d have for those thinking of doing the trip. Overall though, we were very pleased with the route we took. The bikes were great and, really, everything worked out very well.

We think we might try New Zealand next.

Hi Helena, many thanks for your note. It was great meeting you both in Tiverton. Apart from one wet day, we had a good run down to land’s End. Next week I’ll put up a post with some specific thoughts about cycling trips that you might perhaps find useful. I do hope our paths might cross again one day. All the best.

Saw Jennie and Simon last night to celebrate Jennie’s birthday and we were all saying how much we had enjoyed our weekend together. It was lovely to be part of a very tiny bit of your journey.

Thanks, Margaret. The whole trip was a lot of fun, but it was certainly a high point to cycle with you for those two days. Thanks again for coming out to meet us and cover some miles with us. As you could see, we go at a fairly leisurely pace so the trip wasn’t particularly arduous. It was great though to be able to watch the countryside change from one day to the next. Yes we’re back in Chippenham now and will pack up the bikes tomorrow ready for their trip home.
Probably won’t have a chance to see you again this time, but hope to catch up next time. Take care.
